Musicland - Family Musical

Musicland - Family Musical

by Auriel Wyndham Livezey

With comedy, drama, dance and memorable music, Musicland explores the busyness of modern life. High-powered CEO and business owner, Bill Buskirk, bans all forms of music at the workplace. He is big business or "busyness" personified and has little time for family, friends or anything else but work. Expecting to receive an award for a weird business equation he has concocted, instead Bill is actually about to receive three life-altering experiences.

His day doesn’t start off well because, as the clock strikes 8 am, he catches the office boy and girl dancing a tango in the office. Then things really begin to happen. Children arrive to sing for peace, after which his wife visits him with an unexpected announcement. Lastly, he has a surprise meeting with someone and this is all just in the first act. There is even a dream sequence in which the children turn into notes and teach Bill a few lessons in life. You’ll enjoy his "steps" as Bill does quite a turnaround, learning at last what happiness and success really mean.

This is a good ensemble play with everyone having the opportunity to sing, dance or act.
